Bomb Used In Attempted ATM Theft

Thieves in South Africa have upped the ante when it comes to ATM robbery. On Mar. 4, a gang of four robbers in a BMW and Audi arrived at the Olden Oak shopping center in the Johannesburg suburb of Bellville, attached a small explosive device to an ATM and blew out the machine's front door. Holding bystanders back at gunpoint, they made their getaway. Pursued by local law enforcement, two of the suspects were wounded in a gun battle and taken into custody.
