CINCINNATI -- AdvancePierre Foods has added the Pierre Signatures chicken salad with bacon on a croissant to the premium sandwich line.
The 6.84-oz. sandwich, hand-wrapped in clear film for fresh-made appeal, contains a sweet relish chicken salad topped with Applewood-smoked bacon on a flakey croissant.
It has shelf lives of 14 days refrigerated and 12 months frozen. The sandwiches, packed 12 to a case, are available nationwide.
"The chicken salad sandwiches often sold in convenience stores typically are only good for a few days, resulting in high spoilage and low margins," said Tony Schroder, president of convenience channels at AdvancePierre. "Our new offering lasts longer, maintains its freshness and, therefore, is better for the bottom line."
