Sega Hoopla, arcade game LONDON -- New from Sega Amusements International is Hoopla, an arcade redemption piece based on the classic carnival game of the same name.

With classic hoopla games, carnival-goers attempt to toss a ring around a wooden block to win a prize. Similarly, Sega's arcade adaptation challenges players to toss hoops onto pegs, but in a specified amount of time. If a player successfully lands his or her hoops over all seven pegs, a bonus round is activated. Sega says Hoopla was designed as a family attraction and can fit into any skill wall.

Hoopla features a brightly lit cabinet with colorful carnival-theme graphics. A lowered playfield is designed to encourage kids and adults to play. It is equipped with a conveyor belt that constantly feeds a supply of hoops.

Hoopla, among other Sega games, will make its official debut at the European Amusement and Gaming International Expo, which takes place Jan. 17-19 at the London Exhibition and Convention Centre (ExCeL).
