ASHEVILLE, NC -- The DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore will be the site for the Amusement and Music Operators Association's midyear meeting. It runs from Sept. 16 to 20. The event will be devoted to AMOA committee meetings that will deal with a variety of subjects of great importance to the music and games' industry.

"There are a lot of changes coming this year -- leadership, Amusement Expo's location and our new software," said AMOA president Gaines Butler, Metro Distributors (Norcross, GA). "I would hope we view these changes as opportunities. And I'm confident all of our committee chairpersons are committed to addressing these opportunities."

The midyear confab will be the first face-to-face meeting for current committee members and new directors, Butler noted. "To our new director class, we look forward to your fresh ideas and involvement. Asheville will be welcoming a very productive group of AMOA board members. This meeting will be the first of many of the Class of 2019 directors."

The conference will kick off on the evening of Friday, Sept. 16, with a cocktail hour hosted by Butler, starting at 6 p.m. Conference-goers will get down to business at 8 a.m. on Sept. 17, and the meetings will conclude at 5:30 p.m. AMOA's event planners are organizing spouse and guest activities during this period. Asheville, a historic resort area known for attractions like the legendary Biltmore Estate, offers many possibilities; details of a spouse and guest tour will be announced soon. Saturday's activities will close with an evening welcome event.

Sunday's agenda includes further meetings, as well as a spouse and guest breakfast in the morning. The afternoon will be devoted to golf at the Omni Grove Park Inn, with an optional tour also in preparation.

On Monday morning, the last round of meetings will start at 8 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. A luncheon will follow, and the board of directors meeting begins at 1 p.m. A group dinner at the Lion Crest on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate is scheduled for the evening.

Participants are free to determine when to start their journeys home on Tuesday, Sept. 20.

AMOA is headquartered at 700 Spring Hill Ring Rd., Ste. 111, West Dundee, IL 60118. Its updated website is located at amoa.com.
