Face Place Election 2016: Trump Defeats Clinton By 10 Points In Photobooth Campaign

GREENVALE, NY -- Photobooth fans have made their decision. Donald J. Trump is their favorite candidate for president. The Republican contender for President of the United States beat Democratic rival Hillary Clinton with 55.5% of the "votes" cast by photobooth patrons during a special promotion running between Sept. 1 and Nov. 7.

Apple Industries, the manufacturer of the Face Place photoboth, describes its 10-weeklong entertainment promotion as the amusement industry's first-ever event attraction. Called Face Place Election Booth 2016, the endeavor was designed to increase photo sales by capitalizing on the news events surrounding this year's election.

To participate, or vote, Face Place customers who entered a booth were invited to be photographed in various poses with the virtual likeness of either nominee. Each photo was imprinted with a suitable border, and each strip purchased counted as a "vote" for a candidate in the continually updated poll.

"The real winners, of course, were Face Place operators who saw big income spikes around key events such as the debates, and steady upsells throughout the campaign season," said Apple chief executive Allen Weisberg.

The photobooh poll, which took place in all 50 states, was enabled by Apple's Smile 2.0 operating system, which links thousands of machines to a central network. Operators use Apple's technology to remotely track machine performance, and manage content and promotions. Like any other seasonal update, Election Booth graphics and offers were free to Face Place operators.

"Apple's photo sales for Donald and Hillary closely followed the ups and downs of real-world events that took place on the campaign trail," Weisberg reported. "When Trump got hit by unflattering video recordings, his poll numbers went down in the news media, and his photo sales declined at our booths. But when he delivered a strong debate performance, his poll numbers bounced back, and so did his photo sales."

The same pattern held for Secretary Clinton. "When Hillary rolled out specific programs for better education and emphasized her lifelong work on behalf of children, her poll numbers rose according to Gallup, Rasmussen and other pollers -- and so did her photo sales," Weisberg noted. "When the FBI reopened its probe into her emails, her poll numbers dropped and her Apple photo sales reflected similar trend lines."
