BEIJING -- The organizers of the 2016 China International Vending & OCS Showcase are putting the finishing touches on the latest in a series of successful tradeshows that have catalyzed the dramatic growth of the Chinese vending industry. It's set for Nov. 16-18 at the new China International Exhibition Center, Beijing's largest convention and tradeshow venue.

The show is sponsored by Koelnmesse Co. Ltd. and the China Chamber of Commerce of Foodstuffs and Native Produce. It's administered by Shanghai WeShow Events Ltd. and Shanghai Highlights Business Management Consulting Co. Ltd.

The event has drawn support from vending industry associations around the world, including the National Automatic Merchandising Association, the European Vending Association, the Japan Vending Machine Manufacturers Association and Spain's Asociación Nacional Española de Distribuidores Automáticos, as well as vending and coffee service trade media from several nations.

The China Vending Showcase originated in 2003, when the vending industry in China was still in its infancy. In 2006, with the support and participation of NAMA, EVA and JVMA, the China Vending Showcase became an international annual event with a strong reputation. Building on the experience of the past decade, the event's organizers emphasize that they're taking effective measures to promote international participation, creative innovation and international trade.

To encourage wider participation in the exhibit, the organizers report that they will provide international exhibitors with the most competitive exhibit space rates and premium booth furniture packages. The world's leading high-tech companies are being recruited to demonstrate the industry's hottest technologies and latest trends.

Employing the buyers' database established by the organizers over the past 10 years, the show's management is inviting more than 5,000 professional vending operators from China and abroad to conduct business at the show.

This year, the China Vending Showcase will share the exhibit area with Anufood China 2016 ("powered by Anuga"), the largest food trade fair in northern China. Launched in 2014 as World of Food Beijing, Anufood China is an Asian sibling of Germany's famous biennial Anuga show. It's organized by Koelnmesse and will feature more than 700 exhibitors occupying more than 30,000 square meters, or 323,000 square feet, representing all categories of the food retailing and hospitality industries. It will attract more than 25,000 domestic and international visitors.

China's economy has been growing steadily and is now the world's second largest, with a GDP growth rate in 2016 exceeding 6.5%. For this reason, the Chinese vending and OCS industry has passed through infancy to enter a new era of robust development. According to a recent market survey, there are currently more than 1,000 vending operators and over 200,000 vending machines on location in China. The industry watchers are confident that China will become one of the largest vending and OCS markets, along with the United States, Japan and Europe's developed countries, in the next three to five years.
