SAN FRANCISCO -- Gilly Vending said it has won San Francisco International Airport's new "100% healthy" vending machine contract, serving the airport's 50 million annual passengers and thousands of employees.

Miami-based Gilly said the multiyear contract calls for‎ vending machines to be stocked with "premium-quality snack products from recognized brands." Specifically, snacks should be abundant in nutrients and antioxidants that are recognized for boosting energy and stamina. They include dried fruits, coconut chips, carob, quinoa, chia, nuts and whole grains.

"SFO is the first airport in the country to recognize the benefit of transitioning to a full 100% healthy nutritional criteria," said Gilly president Gilda Rosenberg. "Organic, gluten-free, low-salt, sugar-free and low-calorie products are changing the landscape of the entire vending industry, and SFO is ahead of the curve."

Gilly's will place ADA-compliant vending machines. They will be equipped with cashless payment systems that support mobile payments and touchscreens that display products' nutrition and allergen information.

Gilly Vending says it provides vending service at more than 40 airports, along with hospitals, colleges, universities and businesses in 40 states.
