NEW YORK CITY -- Lavit LLC, which rolled out a commercial single-cup cold beverage system last fall, said consumer packaged goods veteran Christopher Stevens has joined its board of directors. Stevens, a former Keurig executive, is also becoming a Lavit investor.

Stevens was one of four original team members to develop and launch the Keurig system. He helped the single-cup giant grow over 17 years, from selling handmade capsules to an eventual $14 billion sale to a JAB Holding Co.-led investor group.

Prior to Keurig, Stevens worked in sales management. He was district manager for the Procter & Gamble Co. and later became president of beer distributor August A. Busch Co.

He is also the founder and chief executive of CS 74 Ventures LLC, a holding company of 20-plus initiatives in which he has invested or owns with the commitment of donating at least 50% of the profits to charitable or social causes. Most recently, Stevens was an adjunct professor at the University of Notre Dame's Mendoza College of Business.

"Chris brings extensive knowledge and experience in the single-serve category having built Keurig from the ground up," said Lavit founder Gian Matteo Lo Faro. "We look forward to his expertise as we continue to grow the brand in the commercial space and as we launch into the retail channel next year."
