ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL -- Incredible Technologies is celebrating the 21st year of Golden Tee Golf with the release of five additional courses for 2010, designed to take full advantage of the high-definition television output of the latest version of the game. Enhanced by new features that add game appeal to skilled and casual players, new commentary and expanded social networking capabilities, the package is scheduled to start shipping on Oct. 1.

The new courses include The Great Wall, set in Mutianyu, China (north of Beijing), which presents demanding greens and daunting sand traps backed by picturesque mountains and a spectacular section of the celebrated Great Wall itself. The Monument Valley course, situated in the Navajo area of Arizona and Utah, offers 18 holes of creatively sited boulders and mesas -- and water hazards that make the most effective use of the region's sparse rainfall -- against a backdrop of impressive Western terrain.

Tahiti Cove, in Taverea (French Polynesia), is described as Golden Tee's most exotic golf course to date. It combines lush tropical scenery with molten lava that can engulf a wayward ball. Bella Toscana celebrates Italy's historic Tuscan hills and the famous Chianti produced from the grapes of the Panzano vineyards. It promises challenging golf across varied, scenic terrain that includes unexpectedly viscous mud. And Valdosta, GA, is the setting for Southern Oaks, described as a traditional Southern gentleman's golf course with dense trees, extensive greens and challenges to test the most dexterous trackballers.

Enhancements to Golden Tee 2010 include a new incentive for top players: 9-hole $2 prize play, which joins popular 18-hole $1 prize play, closest-to-the-pin LIVE and "Hole-n-Win." Incredible Technologies has not overlooked casual players either, bringing back the fondly remembered Skins multi-player format. Rounding out the package is Stats Play, designed for casual players who want to see how well they've done without facing competitive pressure. It enables the patron to retrieve his or her statistics -- average score, handicap and more -- at Also new in Golden Tee LIVE 2010 is GT/Facebook Connect, which allows players to update their Golden Tee play status on the Facebook social networking site without the delay of returning home and logging on from their personal computers. This feature joins last year's innovative provision for uploading a great shot to YouTube, as well as IT's active blogs and Twitter feeds.

Golden Tee 2010 incorporates more than 5,000 new spoken-commentary lines, narrated by IT's irreverent Jim Nantz and Peter Jacobsen and ranging from good-natured jibes to outright sarcasm. Players also can take advantage of premium equipment ranging from Odyssey putters through Callaway drivers to Top-Flite long and soft balls. And new clothing options, including a gorilla outfit and a baby blue tuxedo, expand the range of outlandish attire available for patrons' onscreen avatars.

The icing on the cake is an entirely new sound track created for players who enjoy some "cool indie music" with their golf. IT describes the 2010 Hit List as "a unique blending of music and gaming."

Brian Jandula, the IT senior software engineer who serves as Golden Tee project manager, observed that the game's extraordinarily long run of success has been driven by diligent attention to creating courses that are fun to play, and then enlivening the experience of playing them. "We're truly fortunate to have Jim Zielinski creating these fabulous courses that keep our players coming back for more," he said, "and this year's courses are our best yet."

Jandula emphasized that the 2010 update was undertaken in large part to bring players the enjoyment of high-definition television, and operators the pleasure of the increased revenues that enjoyment will generate. "Old CRT monitors can't display the game to its fullest potential," he explained. "Our new Showpiece cabinet is a breakthrough in both game play and earnings. Now's the time to embrace 'hi-def,' and our Showpiece cabinet is the way to go."

Incredible Technologies noted that Golden Tee LIVE 2010 represents not only the culmination of a year's hard work, but also is the result of a continuing process of evolution that started in 1989.
