CHARLOTTE, NC -- Canteen Vending has acquired four divisions of Winston-Salem, NC-based Gallins Foods. Terms of the transaction, which was finalized on Oct. 1, were not disclosed.

Charlotte-based Canteen Vending now owns Gallins' main operations, which include vending, office coffee service, business dining and micromarkets. The acquired company serviced several North Carolina counties, including Forsyth, Guilford, Alamance and Iredell.

Randy Peak, who was general manager for Gallins Foods, has assumed the role of district general manager for the Canteen-acquired division. "For our employees and our clients, the transition will be seamless," Peak said "We will continue to provide unsurpassed service for our clients and customers."

Canteen, a division of contract foodservice giant Compass Group North America, is the nation's largest vending provider, operating 200 branches in 48 states.
