VISTA, CA -- State and local officials seized pusher-style games and video gambling devices and arrested 10 individuals during raids on seven locations in the city of Vista, near San Diego.

Eleven machines and more than $14,000 in cash were seized, officials said.

According to a news release issued by the San Diego Sheriff's Department, deputies assigned to the Vista Patrol Station Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit and an agent from the State of California, Alcohol Bureau of Control conducted undercover operations from approximately Feb. 20 to March 10 at local businesses believed to have illegal gambling machines.

At one location, deputies said they discovered a "payout sheet" showing that more than $37,800 in winnings was paid out over a six-month period to players.

Police in Delano, a town in central California, also apprehended pusher-style game machines in February, charging location owners with operation of illegal gambling devices. | SEE STORY
