Titan Touch sweepstakes terminal ATLANTA -- New from Titan Touch Systems Inc. is the Titan Touch Plus terminal, which sells personal identification numbers for prepaid phone time in a variety of denominations.

Like the original Titan Touch, the new terminal is used by a location clerk who makes the sale, gives the customer a printout of the "Titan Time" PINs and asks the customer whether he or she wishes to participate in the sweepstakes. If the answer is affirmative, the clerk transfers the purchase information to a sweepstakes terminal for customer play. The original Titan Touch could interface with as many as four sweepstakes terminals, either over an Ethernet or an optional wireless local-area network.

The new Titan Touch Plus extends these capabilities. Points accumulated by the customer-player at one sweepstakes terminal now can be transferred to another without the need to print additional PINs. This allows the patron to move from one terminal to another without the need to engage in another manual transaction with the clerk. The Titan Touch Plus can accommodate up to 50 sweepstakes terminals.

The host computer is housed in an all-in-one case with front-mounted 15" touchscreen LCD monitor. It supports an optional wireless LAN, as well as a variety of popular printers. The computer is menu-driven, and engineered to provide very high security. It also generates detailed accounting reports.

The manufacturer notes that removing the onboard payment system from the phone time sales terminal not only eliminates the lost sales and costly service calls that can result from a malfunctioning bill validator, but also meets the legal requirements of states like North Carolina, where the self-service phone time and sweepstakes apparatus is subject to gaming ordinances.

The PINs are provided by Titan Touch Systems' sister company, Titan Time. They are said to be compatible with most PIN generators on the market.
