First Annual Excellence In FECs Awards Honors 11 Operations; 8,000+ Votes Tallied

Foundations Entertainment University, best FECs, first annual Excellence in Family Entertainment Center Awards, amusement business, family entertainment center, redemption, Enchanted Castle, Funplex, Scottie's Fun Spot, Jerry Merola, Alpha-Omega Amusements

LAS VEGAS -- Tourist Attractions & Parks Magazine and Foundations Entertainment University teamed up to recognize the travail and dedication witnessed in the best FECs. Eleven businesses were honored in the first annual Excellence in Family Entertainment Centers Awards, which were presented on March 15 on the Amusement Expo trade show floor at the Las Vegas (NV) Convention Center.

Polling for the new program began in late January and more than 8,000 votes in eleven categories were tallied. The winners are:

The Funplex (East Hanover, NJ) » Best Indoor FEC
Fun Spot (Orlando, FL) » Best outdoor/indoor FEC
Scottie's Fun Spot (Quincy, IL) » Best roller skating center
Heros (Toledo, OH) » Best Birthday Parties
The Children's Museum of Denver (Denver) » Best facility website
Paradise Park (Lee's Summit, MO) » Best facility maintenance program
America's Incredible Pizza Co. (San Antonio, TX) » Best facility food operation
Laser Tag & Games (Metairie, LA) » Best laser tag center
Boomers! (Dania Beach, FL) » Best games zone (arcade)
Enchanted Castle (Lombard, IL) » Best redemption prize center
