ST. LOUIS, MO -- Consumer packaged goods giant Post Holdings has acquired Nestlé's sports-nutrition business, dominated by the PowerBar and Musashi brands. Terms of the transaction, expected to close during Post's fiscal third quarter, were not disclosed.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Post makes Grape-Nuts, Honeycomb and other cereals.

The company said Nestle's PowerBar and Musashi brands will boost its current active nutrition portfolio, which includes the Premier Protein and Joint Juice brands, as well as Dymatize and Supreme protein powders, bars and nutritional supplements.

With its expanded offerings, Post now expects its combined sports-nutrition brands to generate about $550 million in annual revenue.
