BRUSSELS -- The European Vending Association has welcomed the new Bulgarian Vending Association as a constituent national member organization. The addition of BVA brings to 20 the number of national trade groups now enjoying direct membership in EVA.

The Bulgarian association was established on the initiative of 15 operating companies in that country. It is inviting major equipment manufacturers and suppliers to the European market to join, EVA reported.

A principal objective of the founders of BVA has been to lead the new association into EVA.

"We decided to join the EVA to provide a direct communication line between Bulgarian and European vending companies," said BVA chairman Todor Kanazirev, Terix Ltd. (Plovdiv). "We believe that our membership with the EVA is the most effective way to improve the vending market in Bulgaria, and to make new technologies and solutions available for vending companies in our country."

EVA director-general Catherine Piana hailed the enrollment of the Bulgarian association. "It is very interesting to witness the creation of a new association, as it represents a burgeoning market for the vending industry. This latest cooperation will certainly be very beneficial to both sides," she said.

EVA's national member organizations represent the vending industry within the European Union and, increasingly, in nearby nations as well. In addition to Bulgaria, they include the trade associations of Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland and the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
