Nestle, Arrowhead ReBorn

STAMFORD, CT -- Nestlé Waters North America is rolling out its Arrowhead-brand spring water in a half-liter (16.9-fl.oz.) bottle made of 50% recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET).

The new "ReBorn" Arrowhead bottle, which maintains the brand's familiar Eco-Shape design, will reportedly use 15% less energy than is required to produce bottles from all-new material.

Nestlé said rPET maintains the durability, safety and reusability of virgin PET and does not affect water taste or quality.

The Arrowhead brand, which is widely distributed on the West Coast, also has kicked off its Recycling is a Beautiful Thing campaign, which aims to motivate people to recycle and spread the word about the importance of recycling. An "edu-tainment" program on the brand's Facebook page demonstrates its support of recycled materials, presents educational information and spotlights creative artists who use recovered materials in their work.
