LISLE, IL -- The American Amusement Machine Association is holding its annual board meeting this week at the Hilton Lisle here. The meeting began on Aug. 4 and culminates on Thursday evening, Aug. 7, with the Gala Product Review.

Jon Cameron, director of the U.S. Mint's Office of Coin Studies, will speak at AAMA's government relations luncheon on Thursday afternoon. He will update AAMA meeting participants on the progress of the U.S. Mint's research into possible changes to the composition of coins, an issue that the association has been following closely.

Highlighting this year's meeting is a dinner and awards ceremony honoring Betson's Rick Kirby, AAMA's Lifetime Achievement honoree. The association will present additional awards, including the Joe Robins Award, named in memory of the industry pioneer who played a leading role in forming the association in 1981.

Founded in 1981, AAMA is an international nonprofit trade organization representing manufacturers, distributors and parts suppliers involved in the coin-operated amusement industry. Its board of directors, elected by its members, governs the association and committees. It works with association staff to develop programs that promote and protect the industry.
