SAN DIEGO -- The city of San Diego is considering a marketing partnership with Rainbow Vending that would grant the vending company the rights to operate machines at city facilities and sell advertising space on them.

If the deal is approved, San Diego-based Rainbow Vending would also be allowed to call itself the official beverage vending partner of the city and place its logo on the city's website, according to San Diego's Channel 10 News.

The proposal, which could reportedly bring the city as much as $870,000 over the next five years, will be brought before the City Council's Budget Committee on Nov. 16.

Rainbow Vending was reportedly selected out of six firms that bid for the contract for having the highest potential commission revenues for beverage sales and advertising and the highest commission percentage. It also said it would replace old vending machines with modern, energy-efficient ones.
