Wolfgang Puck Debuts Next Generation CafeXpress Pod Machine

New from Wolfgang Puck Coffee is the latest generation CafeXpress commercial pod brewer. The new model is said to retain all of the original features that have made it a popular workplace solution, along with added enhancements that create a user-friendlier machine.

Improvements include an automatic open and close pod drawer function that clarifies to the user how to use the machine. New automatic refill reset programming streamlines pod replenishment. The final update on the new CafeXpress model is automatic internal cleaning programming that simplifies machine maintenance.

The pod brewer comes programmed with 94 drink recipes, including brewed coffee, latte, cappuccino, mocha, mochaccino, espresso, hot cocoa, hot tea, Americano, tea latte, café au lait, milk steamers and individual shots of milk.

In addition to the release of its enhanced brewer, Wolfgang Puck Coffee, headquartered in Edmonds, WA, has announced partnerships with two additional broker sales agents. Bruce Brecht Sales Associates is now serving the Florida market, and Lisa Welch of Caldwell Brokerage is handling sales in the Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana territories.

Diedrich Debuts Coffee People Donut Shop K-Cup

Donut Shop K-Cup Diedrich Coffee Inc. has introduced its popular Coffee People Original Donut Shop coffee in K-Cups for use with the Keurig single-cup brewing system. The medium-roast coffee is described as being "bold and unpretentious," like the coffee served in a classic donut shop.

Irvine, CA-based Diedrich is one of four roasters under license to produce K-Cups for the Keurig brewer. Its brands include Diedrich Coffee, Coffee People and Gloria Jean's Coffees.

Timothy's Introduces Kahlua K-Cups

Timothy's World Coffee is rolling out the Kahlua Original Coffee K-Cup, the first-ever liqueur-branded portion pack available for the Keurig single-cup brewing system. The smooth, 100% Arabica roast K-Cup captures the signature flavors of Kahlua, the world's top-selling coffee liqueur, with accents of vanilla and caramel.

Toronto-based Timothy's offers more than 30 K-Cup varieties as well as fraction packs of its roast and ground coffees for the OCS market.

Starbucks VIA Instant Coffee Hits OCS

Starbucks VIA Starbucks Coffee Co. is now selling VIA coffee at all U.S. locations, and it is available to the OCS market. It comes in single-serve packets and is instantly prepared by adding hot or cold water.

Made using proprietary "microgrind" technology that preserves the coffee's taste and freshness, the 100% natural roasted arabica instant coffee is said to have the same rich, full-bodied taste as a fresh-brewed cup of Starbucks coffee.

It is packaged in boxes of 12 single-serve packets, and is available in Italian roast and Colombian varieties. The Seattle-based coffee company plans to roll out decaf VIA on Nov. 17.
