COSTA MESA, CA -- Power-Up Energy said it has reached an agreement with Vroom Foods Inc., based here, to become the exclusive U.S. distributor of the company's Buzz Bite energy chews to the bulk vending industry.

The chewy, bite-size confections are fortified with ginseng, taurine and five B vitamins. Each piece contains 100mg. of caffeine, equivalent to a strong cup of coffee or three cans of Coca-Cola, formulated to provide an instant boost of energy that lasts for hours. Available in chocolate and chocolate mint varieties, a single Buzz Bite can be encapsulated in either 1.1" or 2" capsules and vended from any standard bulk unit.

The 1.1" capsules ship in cases with four 250-ct. bags (1,000 units) and can vend for 50¢. The 2" capsules ship in a 250-ct. case and have a suggested vend price of 75¢ or $1. Contained chews can be dispensed by machines equipped with product wheels supporting these standard capsule sizes or through an eight-column vender without capsules. Loose, individually wrapped chews are available for self-encapsulation. Buzz Bite POS displays for single- and triple-head machines are also available.

Vroom Foods founder Jason Kensey, a former Kellogg brand manager, launched Buzz Bites in retail tins in 2004 and extended distribution to bulk vending last year. The company also markets sugar-free, "seriously caffeinated" Foosh energy mints in six-piece packages, well suited for sale through glassfront snack venders.

Power-Up Energy was founded by Keith Woodard and focuses exclusively on the distribution of Buzz Bites and Foosh Mints. The company is based at 4888 N.W. Bethany Blvd., Bldg. K5, Ste. 315, Portland, OR 97229; tel. (503) 645-9590.
