PORTLAND, OR -- VendScreen Inc., maker of a touchscreen user interface for new and existing vending machines, has added Stephen Pasker and Erich Markee to its team.

Pasker was most recently an industry consultant following his departure from Crane Streamware, which markets route management technology.

"Stephen learned about the vending machine industry from bottom to top," said Glenn Butler, cofounder and chief technology officer of VendScreen Inc. "He understands the needs of vending machine operators, the challenges they face and what it takes to improve the profitability of their businesses." Butler, who cofounded Streamware and later served as chief technology officer at Crane Merchandising Systems, joined VendScreen in December. | SEE STORY

Erich Markee brings more than 19 years of vending industry experience to VendScreen. He has consulted for several operators, focusing on process development, data analyses, and cash and inventory accountability. Prior to his work as a consultant, Markee's positions included general manager at Next Generation Vending (Stoughton, MA), systems implementations manager for Sodexo Vending Services and operations manager for A&B Vending (Canterbury, NH). He rolled out Crane Streamware's vending management system to item level for 130 routes, and implemented prekitting, dynamic scheduling and cashless systems for several vending operators.

The VendScreen Revolution Android-based 4.3" touchscreen displays user-specific promotions and advertising, real-time product updates, cashless payment options and refunds, and nutrition information. It is designed to replace several single-purpose devices, eliminating the need for separate card readers or DEX upload devices. It can be easily retrofitted into the cutout slot of any vending machine and integrates with backend systems like MEI Easitrax and Streamware. The company also has an OEM version -- VendScreen Realize -- which incorporates a larger screen, replacing the keypad in existing machines and integrating fully with the machine's functions.
