NORWOOD, MA -- Crane Merchandising Systems has released VendMAX 5.0.5, the latest software upgrade to its Streamware-branded vending management system. The new VendMax version updates annual maintenance functions and adds new capabilities to its dynamic scheduling and cashless modules.

A major enhancement is the addition of machine "banking" for scheduling machines in close proximity to receive service together, and integration with alerts and service calls to enable better decision-making by identifying problem machines while scheduling. This dynamic scheduling upgrade also provides additional views and reports for improved usability.

The newest version of the cashless module -- only available with Crane's cashless technology -- enables users to identify problems with cashless technology at the machine level through new alerts. It provides users with new views and reports for cashless performance and breakeven analysis, as well as estimated bank deposits from cashless sales. Additionally, the upgraded module offers several options for setting up new commission rules and rates for cashless, and deducting cashless sales and fees from commissions.

In addition to the module updates, this latest upgrade provides several enhancements to VendMax and DeliveryMax, including new data change audit reports and automated emailing of invoices. FoodMax, a cold food module, has also been upgraded with enhanced product-ordering algorithms and forecast reports, the addition of prior-menu cycle details to order screens and the ability to generate estimates when there is insufficient history.

The dynamic scheduling and cashless modules are available for purchase by new and existing VendMax customers. Customers who already have current versions of these modules, however, get the upgrades for free. The feature enhancements are included in the annual maintenance service for VendMax, DeliveryMax and FoodMax and are provided at no additional charge.

Over the past two years, the company has introduced several enhancements to both VendMax and DeliveryMax, and has improved its product development process to average two releases a year. VendMax is an open-architecture system designed to meet the demands of growing vending organizations. DeliveryMax provides account management, inventory control and sales support to route sales organizations including office refreshment, pure water and office products distributors.

Streamware was founded in 1991 and became part of Crane Co.'s Crane Merchandising Systems unit in 2000. Crane is a $1.6 billion diversified manufacturer of engineered industrial products.
