MILAN, Italy -- The organizers of VendItalia have redesigned the show's website and newsletter, building on the success of the 2008 event to prepare for the next one. The show, which has grown steadily to attain international prominence, is held every two years. The 2010 VendItalia is scheduled for April 28- May 1 at FieramilanoCity, the Milan fairgrounds.

The new website features an exhibitors' area that provides information to companies interested in showing their products or services at the event. Provision is made for online advance booking, including issuance of a password giving access to a members-only area of the site. Also now available online is a membership application form.

A complete list of exhibitors is online for viewing, and can be searched by company name, country, keyword, product sector and category. The new visitors area contains information useful to those planning a trip to the event, enabling them to make the most effective use of their time there. And a photo gallery showcases highlights of VendItalia 2008.

That show attracted 14,000 visitors, an increase of 25.6% over 2006 attendance, and 270 exhibitors. The show floor occupied 20,000 sq. meters, about 215,300 sq.ft.

The quarterly online newsletter, prepared by the VendItalia organizing staff in conjunction with a press office managed by Mirandola Comunicazione, has a new layout. Registering at the redesigned website enables users to receive regular updates containing information about the exhibition and the latest products. Both the website and the newsletters are available in Italian or English.

Italy has a robust and vibrant vending industry. Its vending trade association, CONFIDA (originally the Confederazione Italiana Distribuzione Automatica) reports that 6 billion products were purchased from vending machines in Italy during 2007, a 10.37% increase over 2005, and there are more than 2 million machines in service. Italian vending machine manufacturers export more than 70% of their production. CONFIDA is a national member of the European Vending Association.
