CHICAGO -- Vending operators and suppliers promoted their products and services to more than 15,000 workplace decision makers attending the recent Society for Human Resources conference and trade show here.

Exhibiting at the show, which is widely regarded as the world's largest HR conference, were workplace refreshment service giants Canteen and Aramark and micromarket suppliers Avanti and Company Kitchen. Office coffee and water services were also in the spotlight by water filtration provider Everpure, single-serve coffee packager Pod Pack International and Coinstar, which is expanding beyond it Redbox DVD rental kiosks into hot beverage vending with its Seattle's Best-branded machines.

The National Automatic Merchandising Association exhibited at the event for the second year. NAMA president and chief executive Carla Balakgie, chief operating officer Dan Mathews, vice-president Dean Gilland and director of coffee and water service Roger Stewart were on hand to communicate to HR professionals the benefits of providing refreshment services to employees in the workplace.

"This was a significant opportunity to interact with more the 15,000 leaders in human resources and business who attend this annual event," Gilland said. "We maximized the potential to inform and influence this audience with key metrics around the importance of micromarkets, coffee, tea and water as a value-add to employees in the workplace. Our intention is to leverage the contacts we made into leads for our members, helping to foster growth for them."
