GRAND PRAIRIE, TX -- The operating assets of Valley-Dynamo LLC, a division of Brunswick Corp., were acquired by a limited partnership controlled by Kelye Stites, owner of Champion Shuffleboard Ltd. and other businesses in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Included in the sale are all coin-operated and consumer products under the Valley, Dynamo and Tornado brands.

"Valley pool tables, Dynamo pool and air hockey tables, and Tornado foosball tables are the unquestioned leaders in their categories in both coin- op and consumer markets," said Stites. "I am delighted to have the chance to offer these quality products to Valley-Dynamo customers and to continue to operate the company independently."

Valley-Dynamo is a combined brand name that reflects a 62-year history of coin-op table game innovations, and the result of key mergers and acquisitions over the past decade. Valley Co., a Bay City, MI-based manufacturer, pioneered coin-op billiards in 1947. The firm remained in Michigan through various incarnations and under a series of parent firms including Kidde Inc., U.S. Industries and Fenway Partners. Valley led the coin-op billiards sector for more than six decades.

In 1999, Valley Recreation Products acquired Tornado Table Sports, a leading maker of foosball equipment; later that year Valley merged with Dynamo Corp., a competing table game manufacturer based in Texas. Valley-Dynamo operations were consolidated in the former Dynamo plant thereafter. Brunswick acquired Valley-Dynamo in 2003 for $34.5 million. Four years later Brunswick moved Valley-Dynamo's manufacturing from Dallas to Reynosa, Mexico.

The new owner said the company would continue to operate under the Valley-Dynamo name. The company's headquarters and distribution center will remain in Dallas/Fort Worth on a provisional basis, while the new management team examines its marketing and production infrastructure. In the meantime, Valley-Dynamo's contact information is unchanged.
