UNIS, After Dark Sensatio

LONDON -- Universal Space, better known as UNIS, took the wraps off its latest arcade innovation at the EAG International Expo in late January here. After Dark is a fantasy shooter that mixes steering and gun controls.

After Dark is available in standard (47" screen) and deluxe (55" screen) cabinet formats, with the latter featuring a motion platform. Both configurations employ motion guns. Gameplay features three characters who travel through different scenes, replete with winding canyons and cliffs. Players battle vampires, ghouls and dragons as they attempt to complete the main stages to unlock a bonus final stage.

According to UNIS, After Dark is programmed to appeal to young teens and older audiences. According to the manufacturer's description, "This videogame machine is intense and thrilling, looks mean and certainly appealed to the buyers at EAG.

Ian Eason of Instance Automatics, a distributorship based in Huttoft, Lincolnshire, said, "[After Dark] gives players a great game for their spend." He added that it's a great value for operators and said there are few deluxe games of similar quality that are available at the same low price.

Before January's London showing, UNIS exhibited a prototype of its new videogame at the IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL. After Dark is now available in the U.S. and Europe.
