Timezone Funtasia Wins Award As Australian Tourist Attraction

SURFERS PARADISE, Australia -- Timezone Funtasia was honored with the prestigious Tourism Hospitality & Events Award in recognition of the far-reaching appeal of its Funtasia Paradise Centre family entertainment center in the Cavill Mall here. The award in this category is sponsored by Gold Coast Airport, which serves this popular destination south of Brisbane in Queensland.

Timezone's Juan Uribe received notification of the honor from Steven Ciobo (pronounced Choe-boe), Member of Parliament for the Division of Moncrieff (Queensland) and a former shadow Minister of Tourism. The Timezone Funtasia FEC was recognized for making a noticeable contribution in boosting the economy of the Gold Coast.

The Surfers Paradise Timezone store occupies some 5,000 square meters (nearly 54,000 square feet) of floorspace; it's the largest indoor FEC in Australia and the biggest Timezone facility in the world. The company presently operates more than 200 FECs throughout Australasia and South Asia.

Separately, Timezone's Indonesia operation recently opened a new location with 71 games in the Kramat Jati Mall, located east of Jakarta. It's the 102nd Timezone in Indonesia; in total, the chain operates 232 arcade game centers in seven countries.
