DRAPER, UT -- Swire Coca-Cola USA said it has reached a definitive agreement for the expansion of its territories in the Pacific Northwest. The territories are in the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho, and include Seattle and Spokane in Washington and Portland in Oregon. As part of the agreement, Swire will acquire production plants near Seattle and Portland, along with distribution facilities in its new territories.

The agreement signals another expansion of Swire Coca-Cola's growing footprint in the U.S. The Utah-based company, a subsidiary of Asia's Swire Pacific Ltd., now operates in 13 western states. Prior to this agreement, Swire held smaller territories in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

"This latest grant of additional territory rights, on the heels of prior deals to expand our territories in Colorado and Arizona, underscores the important role Swire is playing in Coca-Cola Co.'s refranchising initiatives in North America," said Swire Coca-Cola USA chief executive Jack Pelo.
