World's leading pinball producer plans limited-access extravaganza with array of special guests and giveaways

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL -- In celebration of its 30th year in business, Stern Pinball Inc., which bills itself as the world's oldest and largest producer of arcade-quality pinball machines, will host a limited-access anniversary party for all ages.

The event takes place at 8 p.m. on Oct. 14 at Viper Alley in Lincolnshire, IL. Tickets are $35 a person. Visit for more information and to make a purchase.

Special guests and inspired performances will highlight the event. Ed Robertson, pinball aficionado and lead singer of Barenaked Ladies, is expected to perform. Up-and-coming Chicago rocker Aly Jaydos will play an acoustic set, and burlesque sideshow talent Sally Marvel will show off her sword-swallowing skills. For families, photos and kisses with Mindy the Monkey will be available, as will a meet-and-great session with Ghostbusters star Ernie Hudson. A pre-party meet-and-greet with Adam West, who played Batman in the 1960s TV series, also is planned.

World famous magician Magic Randy will roast Stern Pinball chairman and chief executive Gary Stern. The event will also offer an exclusive opportunity to meet Stern's game designers, who have created some of the most iconic machines in pinball history. Pinball machines will be on free play during the party.

"We are extremely proud to be celebrating 30 years of providing unlimited fun to pinball fans around the world," said Gary Stern. "We sincerely appreciate the loyalty and support of all pinball fans over the years and in the years to come."

The modern pinball manufacturer, which held the distinction as the only one between 2001 and 2011, may officially be 30 years old, but its lineage dates back 85 years. In Philadelphia in the 1930s, Gary's father, Sam Stern, entered the business of operating pinball games. He purchased an ownership stake in Chicago-based Williams in 1947. Sam passed his lifelong enthusiasm for flipper games and the coin-op industry to his son Gary, who kept alive one of America's favorite pastimes.

Some recent titles in Stern Pinball Inc.'s game portfolio include Ghostbusters, Spider-Man Vault Edition, Game of Thrones, KISS and WWE WrestleMania, along with The Walking Dead, Mustang, Star Trek, Metallica and the Avengers.
