CHICAGO -- Stern Pinball introduced its latest classic flipper games at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, NV, which wraps up today. The debut took place in Stern’s Booth 21239 in South Hall 1 of the Las Vegas Convention Center, in what the company says is its largest CES presence to date.

“CES is one of our favorite events and the perfect place to showcase our newest hit game, Stranger Things, and our affordable home pinball machine, the Star Wars Pin,” said Gary Stern, chairman and chief executive officer of Stern Pinball, Inc. “Tech and pinball fans alike will get the chance to play all things pinball at the Stern booth.”

Stern highlighted the Stranger Things flipper, and an economical home Star Wars model, at a press conference on Sunday, January 5th, and a Showstoppers event on Tuesday, January 7th.

Games will be set on free play throughout the week. CES participants are encouraged to stop by to check out Stern’s latest offerings, play some pinball and meet the team.

The Stranger Things line includes Pro, Premium and Limited Edition versions. The series is based on the popular Netflix television series that premiered in 2016. The game challenges players to experience terrifying forces in Hawkins, IN including supernatural elements, strange sightings and government secrets. Stranger Things pinball machines are engineered to immerse players in a search to expose the extraordinary mysteries and secret government experiments taking place at the Hawkins National Laboratory. The gameplay focuses on unlocking the hidden meanings of supernatural events occurring in and around the town, including the appearance of a girl known as “Eleven” with telekinetic abilities. Show regulars Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Joyce, and Police Chief Jim Hopper help Eleven close the dimensional gate.

“Stranger Things is one of the most successful shows of all time, connecting with people around the world and across generations,” Gary Stern reported. “This game features action, mystery, suspense, and humor; Stranger Things is a perfect fit for pinball.”

The Premium and Limited Edition models feature a first-ever video projector that displays animations and other images directly on the playfield, creating dramatic interactions with gameplay action. The center of the playfield features a unique ramp that doubles as a screen and leads the player into a direct battle with the Demogorgon. These models also feature a new Eleven-themed “telekinetic” magnetic ball lock.

The Pro, Premium and Limited Edition models all feature distinctive hand-drawn art in addition to a custom-sculpted, interactive Demogorgon bash toy guarded by drop targets and a rotating ramp. All models include two hideout ball scoops, a “Demodog” spinner, three custom ramps, and game rules that will transport players into the Upside Down. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price of the Pro version is $6,099; the Premium edition lists for $7,699, and the Limited Edition has a $9,099 MSRP. Production of the Limited Edition model will end after 500 units have been completed for the global market. The LE model includes additional unique features such as an exclusive mirrored backglass, exclusive custom themed cabinet artwork, a custom autographed bottom arch, exclusive custom art blades, anti-reflection pinball glass, a shaker motor, and a sequentially numbered plaque.

Stern Pinball’s Star Wars Pin is a new pinball machine designed and engineered for the home. It immerses players in the dynamic Star Wars galaxy, and is packed with features including select speech and footage from the original Star Wars trilogy, color-changing playfield inserts, a custom-sculpted Death Star, and a custom-sculpted and interactive Tie fighter.

The easy-to-set-up Star Wars Pin is built to last and engineered with genuine Stern commercial-quality parts. The playfield is housed in a stylish cabinet with high-definition artwork and all-LED playfield lighting.

“The Star Wars Pin is designed to provide quality family entertainment and bring pinball fun to homes everywhere,” Stern explained. “We are pleased to bring these pinball machines celebrating the Star Wars galaxy and adventures to our fans.”

Complementing the immersive theme and exciting gameplay experience, Stern Pinball’s powerful Spike electronics hardware system enables high-definition graphics and innovative animations while reducing system complexity and energy use.
