SAN DIEGO -- The Amusement & Music Operators Association held its annual State Council Meeting on Jan. 26, and government relations topics were in the spotlight. More than 60 industry leaders gathered here to tackle a full agenda, which led off with a national government affairs overview presented by AMOA legislative counsel Michael Zolandz of Dentons LLP (Washington, DC).

Officials of state music and amusement operators associations delivered individual reports on state issues, followed by panel discussions of topics including taxes, licenses and fees; gaming; and state legislation affecting operators of automated teller machines.

Rounding out the program were three manufacturer panels at which premier event sponsors engaged with meeting participants to share perspectives on the industry. Those sponsors were recognized at a gala dinner that wrapped up the annual state councils meeting.
