ST. CHARLES, MO -- Karen and Joe Webster and their team at Newco Enterprises Inc. welcomed U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt for a visit to Newco's manufacturing plant and headquarters here on Sept. 1.

Blunt is vice-chairman of the Senate Republican Conference and a member of the Senate Appropriations, Commerce, Science and Transportation Committees, as well as the Select Committee on Intelligence. He chairs the Senate Rules Committee and Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies. Prior to winning election to the Senate in 2010, he served in the House of Representatives from 1997 to 2011.

"We thank Senator Blunt and his staff for taking the time to tour Newco and to understand the challenges and opportunities involved in our industry," said Karen Webster, Newco's chief financial officer. "As Missouri-based business owners, we recognize the value of a positive working relationship with elected leaders in Washington."

The Websters noted that Sen. Blunt's visit followed an initial meeting during the National Automatic Merchandising Association Fly-In industry advocacy event on Capitol Hill in July.

Newco, founded in 1974, rose to prominence as a manufacturer of parts for the first generation of brewers used by the coffee service industry during its formative years. The company has grown to become a leading manufacturer of commercial coffee and tea brewing and serving equipment and related accessories. Vertically integrated, Newco's 120,000-sq.ft. plant provides in-house capability for engineering and software design, metal fabrication, custom graphics production and electronic control board manufacturing.

Newco cofounder and chief executive Joe Webster was honored as a Coffee Legend in 2013 by the National Automatic Merchandising Association. | SEE STORY
