WOOD DALE, IL -- Sega Amusements has released a promotional video to correspond with the release of its new "vid-redemption" game, Plants vs. Zombies -- The Last Stand.

The game, which is themed on the unlikely conflict between a suburban horticulturist and the undead, is the latest iteration of a hit video migrating from small screen to bigger screen. Originally developed by PopCap Games, the popular home console piece and handheld game app have been transformed to a full-size arcade unit that merges the imaginative concept with a number of equally unique features.

As in the app and console game, a homeowner must fight off an army of the living dead with a variety of different plants. In Sega's arcade version, players sit on a sunflower seat and fire a translucent turret-style "pea shooter" lit by interior LED-lighting effects. The screen itself provides a new perspective on the established gameplay, enlarging the game's home and handheld sizes to an enormous 42" HD LCD and 3D graphics.

Gameplay includes 10 levels or "gardens" for a variety of power-ups and hidden gardens. Offered in an arcade cabinet measuring 44" W. x 75" D. x 95" H., Plants vs. Zombies features both onboard and online leaderboards. A QR code displayed at the end of the game allows players to register their scores online in a global high-score table and earn unlock codes for future plays. A ticket-dispensing unit is also available with an optional capsule vender.
