CAPE TOWN, South Africa -- A floating Lipton Ice Tea "vending machine" is making a splash at one of Cape Town's trendiest beaches.

Beachgoers can swim out to the buoyant contraption, where they can enjoy a free Lipton Ice Tea, get sprayed with water and take a photograph before making their way back to shore.

The novel vending attraction is part of Lipton's "Ice Sea: Never Lose Your Cool" campaign, which kicked off last month. The cold-beverage machine is mounted on a deck supported by two floats or pontoons. Five of these eye-catching vessels will cruise to beaches up and down South Africa's coast. Fans can track their locations by following them on the Lipton Ice Tea Facebook page.

As part of the promotion, Lipton Ice Tea will be giving away merchandise and encouraging people to "keep their cool" and practice water safety and awareness.

Clifton Surf Lifesaving, a nonprofit organization that oversees public safety on the beaches, has volunteers on hand to help people get to and from the vending machine safely, and to distribute the promotional merchandise.
