Revive Self-Service Café Inks Master Purchase Pact With USConnect

CHARLOTTE, NC -- Revive has announced its entry into a master purchase and licensing agreement with USConnect. The pact covers the operation of Revive Self-Service Café micromarkets nationwide under the USConnect platform.

The agreement follows Revive's certification by Sprout Retail as the first micromarket system to integrate with the proprietary USConnect OneCard medium for micromarket use. Full integration across vending, micromarket and dining platforms is nearing completion.

USConnect is a consortium of independent foodservice operations across the United States. Working together, its member companies aim to offer high-quality fresh foods, consistent service and state-of-the-art technology and programs to corporate foodservice clients.

According to USConnect chief executive Jeff Whitacre, the group's goal is to facilitate the modernization of the vending and foodservice industry through cashless payments, wireless telemetry and the value-added capabilities that a connected base of self-serve terminals can provide -- both now and in the future.

"We have been working closely with Revive for more than a year," Whitacre explained, "and Revive, in collaboration with our partners at Sprout Retail, was the first micromarket provider to develop a software platform that integrates with the USConnect hosted balance card."

Revive vice-president of sales and marketing Joe Loparco said that USConnect rigorously tested the Revive product. "The direct, upside potential of working with such a prominent group of independent operators is of course extremely meaningful to our organization," Loparco observed, "while at the same time strengthening our position to better serve the industry as a whole."
