BELLEVUE, WA -- Redbox users can now ask Amazon's cloud-based Alexa voice service which new-release movies and games are available at their local vending machines. They can also ask about specific titles, including plots, ratings, or who stars in a movie.

For example, Redbox customers with Alexa-enabled devices can ask: "What new movies are at Redbox?"; "What videogames does Redbox have?"; "Where are the Redbox kiosks near me?"; and "What is coming soon to Redbox?"

"Redbox is always looking for new opportunities to enhance our customer's experiences," said Redbox chief marketing and customer experience officer Ash Eldifrawi. "We continue to connect the off-and on-line retail experience for our customers, giving them the option to reserve, browse and find locations online or via their phones. Now they can ask Alexa what's new and coming soon at Redbox."

Redbox said it is well on its way to adding 1,500 new movie and videogame rental vending machines in 2017 and has more deployments planned for 2018. By the end of the year, Redbox said it will have more than 41,500 kiosks nationwide.
