WHITTIER, CA -- Pop N Go Inc. announced that it has completed an engineering prototype of the new Model N9000 popcorn-on-demand vending machine that it is developing with AVT Inc., a manufacturer of vending machines and related technology.

Coupling Pop N Go's patented popcorn vending technology with AVT's patented PC-based vending technology, the machine delivers fresh-popped popcorn while showcasing video content through a 22" LCD topper. The companies expect full production to begin in the first quarter of 2010 with an initial run of 100 units. They are targeting a production increase to 500 units a month by the fourth quarter.

"Our Model N9000 has been designed to provide national accounts with the latest in vending technology, along with access to the fast-growing digital point-of-sale segment of the advertising market," said Mel Wyman, Pop N Go's chief executive.

One of many possible applications for the new popcorn vender, capitalizing on the perennial appeal of pairing popcorn and movies, is that movie trailers can be shown on the high-resolution display when the machine is collocated with DVD rental machines. Wyman added that the company is developing turnkey solutions for national accounts, including a nationwide service network and branding opportunities.

The Pop N Go chief said the company has begun testing with one national chain, and has received early positive feedback.

Separately, Corona, CA-based AVT announced that it has acquired rights, intellectual property and copyright material for Vend Perfect software to use in conjunction with its equipment.

The Vend Perfect software will enable AVT-manufactured vending systems to provide remote and real-time sales data and other information to vending operators.

"Our simple goal is to provide a set of automated tools to enhance the operations and vending route logistics which ultimately translates into higher profitability," said AVT founder Shannon Illingworth.

"Adding a new tool such as Vend Perfect provides additional functionality and flexibility to AVT's PC based systems without adding any substantial cost to the system," added AVT chief executive James Winsor.
