WINTER PARK, FL (July 2007) -- Experiencing strong growth and anticipating that the trend will continue for the remainder of 2007, Coin Free has just completed a 3,000-sq.ft. expansion of its executive office and manufacturing facility here.

Following the introduction of the Basic Unattended Micro-Payment (Bump) system at last September's AMOA Expo (see VT January), the company said it has experienced unprecedented growth in the amusement, gaming and unattended kiosk sectors. Bump combines remote management with debit and credit card acceptance. With a small size and quick surface mounting, it resembles a "bump" on a machine cabinet, working alongside existing coin and bill validators and incorporating a wireless data transceiver. The device uses a simple pulse interface  that provides a connection between the existing payment system and an RS-232 serial interface to the game or vending controller. It also incorporates three sensor inputs for data to track user-specified variables such as consumables, product dispensing mechanisms, mechanical coin validators and/or alarm conditions requiring a service call.

Company officials said the product is finding strong acceptance with mid-to large-sized route management companies looking to expand their payment options into cashless, while streamlining route management operations.

Coin Free is conducting several large field tests throughout the U.S. with the Bump device attached to electronic pool tables, crane machines and bar-top games.

"Credit card sales, as anticipated, are looking strong and will only grow from here as the younger, more card-savvy generations come into their time," said Michael Tiner, Coin Free's marketing director.

The company also recently completed expansion of its server farm. With the addition of redundant backup systems in the Chicago area, the company has doubled its card processing and data-transfer capacity to handle the strong growth of the Bump payment and remote management systems.

Coin Free provides credit and debit card payment solutions for amusement gaming, vending and automated kiosks, ranging from bulk vending installations through electronic darts, pool tables and jukeboxes to cranes and bartop games.
