RICHMOND, VA -- Performance Food Group Co., parent of vending distribution giant Vistar, has appointed president and chief executive George L. Holm chairman of its board of directors. Holm succeeds Douglas M. Steenland, who resigned from his position as chairman on Jan. 30., having held the post since 2010.

Holm will continue to serve as PFG’s president and chief executive, a role he has served in since May 2008. Over that period, PFG’s net sales have grown from approximately $10 billion in fiscal 2009 to approximately $17.6 billion in fiscal 2018.

Separately, PFG has named Craig Hoskins president and chief executive of its foodservice segment and executive vice-president of PFG, reporting to Holm.

Hoskins, a 30-year distribution veteran, was named president and chief executive of PFG Customized Distribution and a senior vice-president of PFG in January 2012 after serving as president and chief operating officer of Customized Distribution. He assumed additional responsibility for Performance Foodservice’s sales and marketing in January 2018 and has served in an interim role as president and chief executive of Performance Foodservice since August 2018.

Hoskins joined PFG in 2008 following its merger with Vistar Corp., where he progressed through successive roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, merchandising/purchasing and operations.
