FREMONT, CA -- PerceptIn, a visual intelligence company focused on robotics, is piloting its DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle in the U.S. It's equipped with a vending machine for consumer goods companies seeking to increase brand awareness and product sales. Consumers can reportedly safely "hail" the vehicle with a mobile device, or stop the vehicle when they see it.

The DragonFly vehicle is designed to provide advertisers and consumer goods companies a digital out-of-home advertising experience to drive brand awareness and maximize engagement with on-the-go consumers. It gives retailers and advertisers a "mobile showrooming" experience that can capture unique insights on consumer engagement with new products through its advanced computer vision and robotics technology.

The DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle is also integrated with location-based services to provide retailers and advertisers with insights on customers, based on their location data and/or time of day and/or both.

The DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle provides measurable advertising ROI. During a 15-minute test run on a commercial complex, the DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle was able to attract more than 1,000 viewers, according to the company. Approximately 58.2% of these viewers were "highly engaged" as they viewed the advertisement for more than five seconds. Using conventional advertising metric terms and within 15 minutes of operation, the DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle made more than 1,000 impressions and achieved an astonishing 58.2% click through rate, according to PerceptIn.

"We designed the DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle as a way to bring intelligence to an area of advertising and retail that had little to none," said Dr. Shaoshan Liu, founder and chairman of PerceptIn and recipient of more than 150 U.S. and international patents on robotics and autonomous driving. "Our Intelligent Advertising Vehicle technology offers the next pioneers of commerce the ability to easily connect the digital to the offline world and set up their own visually engaging 'autonomous showroom' quickly and affordably."

The DragonFly Intelligent Advertising Vehicle, which operates in low-speed settings such as convention centers, corporate and educational campuses, amusement parks and malls, is equipped with digital signage that delivers video advertising.

PerceptIn is now selecting customers for its self-driving vending machine pilot program in the U.S. The DragonFly Intelligent Advertising vehicle will be available for purchase in the U.S. to select customers in the first quarter of 2019 for $40,000.

With offices in California and Shenzhen, China, PerceptIn is bringing its core technology, focused on visual intelligence, to myriad new devices in a broad range of areas, from IoT-grade robots to autonomous driving. The company serves more than 100 customers and works on providing hardware and software solutions for the "robotization" of the next generation of products.
