PORTLAND, OR -- PayRange Inc. has launched PayRange Air, a service designed for food trucks, concessions, and other similar small-ticket merchants for everyday purchases.

While card acceptance is prevalent at everyday merchants, research highlights that 60% of transactions under $10 are still conducted with cash even when card payment options are available, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Instead of focusing on payments alone, PayRange has developed industry-specific software solutions for merchants and integrated payments into that service.

For the quick-service industry, the product includes features such as “Order Ready” notifications. After a consumer has paid for an order, it usually takes a few minutes for the order to be prepared.

“With PayRange Air, the merchant has a button in the merchant app to send a notification to the consumer when their order is ready,” PayRange founder and chief executive Paresh Patel explained. “This is a high value-add feature, especially since user privacy is maintained as the merchant does not receive the name, phone or other personal information.”

Another key feature is the marketing platform, which includes capabilities to run promotions as well as a turnkey loyalty program, which Patel says will benefit both end users and merchants.

“Instead of waiting for consumers to arrive, the platform allows small merchants to reach their existing consumers with promotions to drive traffic and increase repeat business,” Patel said. “The system is designed to be simple to implement and use. It takes just a few clicks, and in some cases just a checkbox to activate and deploy a marketing campaign.”

In addition to PayRange’s Bluetooth-based mobile payment technology, PayRange Air is available with a QR code scan. Both approaches provide a smooth, easy and fast consumer experience.

“As a small, owner-operated business, I don’t have the resources or time to invest in marketing and the solutions I have seen are far too complex,” stated Aryan Niroumand who runs the Persian Sofreh food truck in Portland. “I like how PayRange is working to solve my business problems and making it easy, so I can focus on serving my customers. I also like that I don’t have to take my smartphone and hand it over to a customer to sign as I have to do with a card reader attached to my phone. With PayRange, the payment is super fast and happens magically.”

PayRange’s Bluetooth-enabled mobile payment and loyalty technology lets users of the app pay in seconds with their smartphones at vending, laundry and amusement machines equipped with the technology.
