LOUISVILLE, KY — Payment Alliance International president and chief executive officer John J. Leehy III, is the winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for 2018 in the East Central Region. PAI is the nation’s largest privately held provider of automated teller machines.

Leehy was selected by an independent judging panel comprised of previous award-winners, leading CEOs, investors and other regional business leaders. The award presentation was a gala event, held late in June at the Hilton Downtown Hotel in Cleveland, OH.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award was established by international professional services titan Ernst & Young in 1986. That company rebranded as EY in 2013. The first award was made in Milwaukee, WI; the program has grown steadily, and now honors entrepreneurial achievement in all 50 states and 60 nations worldwide.

Payment Alliance International offers  its clients processing and maintenance services, equipment sales and support, and unique ATM branding opportunities. PAI also provides revenue-generating value-added solutions designed to increase its customers’ profitability, reduce operational expense and maximize uptime.

“It’s truly an honor to be named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year,” said Leehy. “This award reflects the hard work and dedication of our incredible PAI team, our amazing group of market partners and thousands of loyal customers all across the country.”

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year awards are nationally sponsored by SAP America, the Kauffman Foundation and Merrill Corp. East Central Region sponsors include PNC, VRC, Oswald, Smart Business, Chemistry Communication and Frost Brown Todd.

Regional winners will be considered for EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year national awards, which will be announced in November during the program’s annual U.S. Strategic Growth Forum held in Palm Springs, CA.
