Patricia Dean Whalen, Wife Of CME’s Michael Whalen, Dies At 79

CURRITUCK, NC — Mike McGillis of the Wittern Group (Des Moines, IA) reports that Patricia Dean Whalen, the wife of industry veteran Michael Whalen, died here on May 25. She was 79.

Michael Whalen got his start in the industry as an operator, and later owned CME Inc. in Currituck, NC, specializing in vending machine sales, rental and repair. He also is a longtime service representative and consultant for the Wittern Group.

Patricia Whalen, Michael’s wife of 45 years, was born in Pasquotank County, NC. In addition to working with CME, she was office manager for Moyock Furniture Sales, and was known for her enthusiasm for gardening, fishing and cooking.

In addition to her husband Michael, Patricia is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Brown (Norfolk, VA) and Linda Basham (Culpeper, VA); and one grandchild, Molloy Basham (Fredericksburg, VA).
