LAS VEGAS -- Nu Health International LLC has reformulated its vendable fruit-in-juice line to remove the added sugar. The 100% natural grade A fruit in real fruit juice is packaged in a 12-fl.oz. transparent "can" with a peel-back lid, resealable cap and a built-in spork. It will vend from any machine that accommodates 12-fl.oz. cans.

Nu Health's product is available in six varieties, including mandarin orange, pineapple and peach. The grab-and-go fruit has an 18-month shelf life with no refrigeration required, but is best served chilled. Each container contains 2-1/2 servings, with 100 calories each.

Nu-Health reports that its vendible fruit has received approval for sale in several school systems, including certificates from Connecticut and southern California.

In a related development, VE South (Fort Lauderdale, FL), an equipment and product supplier to vending and OCS operators, announced that it is distributing the Nu-Health line.

"These products meet all the FDA requirements, and are perfect for all types of vending machines, mini-marts and grab-and-go facilities," said VES general manager Joe Gilbert. "It's not only a great product, but the gross margins are higher than average."
