STAMFORD, CT -- Longtime Nestlé Waters North America Inc. president and chief executive Kim Jeffery will step down from the top spot after being there for 20 years. Nestlé veteran Tim Brown will succeed him, beginning in February.

Brown, 49, has served as president and chief executive of Nestlé Canada since 2010. Prior to that, he spent 22 years at Nestlé Waters North America, most recently heading retail operations as executive vice-president and general manager until transitioning to his current role.

Jeffery, 64, joined the company in 1978 as a sales manager and assumed the company's top post in 1992. Under his leadership, the company has grown organically from a $650 million in revenues business 20 years ago into the leading bottled water company in North America, with sales of $4.4 billion in 2011 and seven of the top 10 U.S. brands.

Jeffery will assume a nonexecutive chairman position, effective Feb. 1.

In Canada, Brown will be succeeded by Shelley Martin, who is currently president of Nestlé Canada's frozen division.
