PHILADELPHIA -- The National Business Group on Health, a nonprofit association of 425 large U.S. employers, has honored Aramark for having one of the best workforce health and wellbeing programs in the nation. Aramark is among 48 U.S. employers that received the 2017 Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles award presented at an NBGH conference in Austin, TX.

Aramark received a Platinum Award for its "Take Care" program. This marks the ninth year the Philadelphia-based foodservice giant has been recognized for receiving the healthy lifestyles award.

Take Care provides Aramark employees with resources to strengthen their physical, emotional, social and financial wellbeing. The program offers challenges, fitness centers, screenings, flu vaccinations, health assessments, nutrition, wellness fairs, and obesity and fitness counseling.

Aramark is also striving to promote healthy lifestyles at the businesses and in the communities it serves. Notable is Healthy for Life 20 By 20, an initiative with the American Heart Association, aims to improve the health of all Americans 20% by 2020. Aramark introduced menu innovations by reducing calories, saturated fat and sodium levels 20% and increasing fruits, vegetables and whole grains by 20%.

Promoting healthy lifestyles among families in underserved communities and Aramark's customers, clients and employees is a key component of Feed Your Potential 365, a public health and wellbeing campaign launched last year in alliance with Healthy for Life 20 By 20.
