CHICAGO -- Namco Bandai has released an English-language version of the video trailer for its deluxe horror-themed videogame Dark Escape 3D. Launched in mid-July for Japanese arcades, the game is scheduled for its U.S. release by year's end, according to Internet sources. No specific release date has yet been announced.

Arcade Heroes, an Internet magazine, said the game will be called Dark Escape 4D outside of Asia.

The two-player, sitdown unit features 3D graphics (and requires glasses) and a separate two-handled gun station for each player. Heartbeat monitors are built into the gun handles. After a round of play, each player receives a score based on pulse rates, with the lower pulse earning the higher score.

The game has an enclosed cabinet, which is said to provide four-dimensional effects through surround sound speakers, rumbling seats and airguns. Bursts of air are shot at the player's neck, face and legs at strategic times during the game.
