CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has installed Vistar's Pat Hagerty as chairman of its board of directors, succeeding Howard Chapman of Royal Cup (Birmingham, AL) in the post. The NAMA chairman's one-year term began on July 1.

Hagerty is chief executive of Vistar Corp. (Englewood, CO) and senior vice-president of its parent company, Performance Food Group (Richmond, VA).

"As the incoming NAMA chair, I'm looking forward to moving the industry forward, building on the strength of the new brand and the opportunities before us,'" said Hagerty."This summer, I'll participate in several state council meetings throughout the country so that I can hear first-hand from NAMA members about their views on what we can accomplish together."

On behalf of the entire NAMA board, Hagerty thanked immediate past-chairman Chapman for his industry commitment and service.

A native of Colorado, Hagerty holds degrees from Colorado State University and the University of Southern California. He serves on the board of directors of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (Rye Brook, NY).

Founded in 1936, NAMA represents vending, coffee service, contract foodservice and micromarket operators comprising the U.S. convenience services industry. It provides advocacy, education and research for its members.
