NAMA Chooses Innovation Award Winners; LBP, Cantaloupe, ShelfX Are Among Them

CHICAGO -- The six winners of the National Automatic Merchandising Association's 2013 Innovation Awards were chosen from the 45 entries. They are:

» ShelfX's Vending Fridge in the vending machine, micromarket and kiosk category.

» LBP Manufacturing's UpShot in the coffee, OCS, water and foodservice equipment category.

» Cantaloupe Systems' Seed Mobile application in the mobile payments, devices and control systems category.

» Royal Cup Coffee for its ROAR pod-and-brewer line in the products (coffee) category.

» General Mills for Betty Crocker Caramel Brownies, also in the products category (snacks).

» AdvancePierre Foods for Drive Thru Deluxe Sandwiches, another products category winner (food).

The judges for the competition's first review were Paul Schlossberg, DFW Consulting (Goshen, NY), Jerry McVety, McVety & Associates, and Mike Tompkins. The winners were chosen by operator judges Tyler Avery, Brown Vending (Brandon, MS); Robert Donahue, Diverse Food Systems (Sacramento, CA); Bob Holmes, Refreshments Inc. (Corinth, MS); Scott Meskin, Black Tie Services (Baltimore); and Jerry Scott, Canteen of Coastal California (Oxnard).
