CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association Foundation announced the two inaugural recipients of the Dan Mathews Scholarships to attend The NAMA Show in Las Vegas, March 21-23.  They are M. Gaye Tankersley, Food Service Solutions LLC (Irmo, SC) and Kyle Dunn, Machine Cuisine Vending (Kingman, AZ).

NAMA executive vice-president and chief operating officer Dan Mathews retired in June 2017. To honor his many contributions to NAMA and the convenience services industry over his 18 years of service and carry on his legacy, the NAMA Foundation established the Dan Mathews Scholarship.

Throughout his career at NAMA, Mathews was passionate about the importance of continuing education for industry professionals, particularly small operators. This dedication to small operators is why the scholarships are specifically designated for NAMA operator members with 10 or fewer employees.

The Dan Mathews Scholarship Program is funded annually through voluntary contributions made to the NAMA Foundation.
